Air Canada is the flag carrier and national airline of Canada and was founded in the year 1937. Scheduled flights and chartered flights are available to 160 destinations by Air Canada. Also, it is the founding member of the Star Alliance which was formed by 21 airlines in 1997. Comparing by fleet size, the Air Canada airline is the seventh largest passenger airline. At the time of founding, the main headquarters of the airline were in Winnipeg, Manitoba. However, they shifted in 1949 to Montreal in Quebec and since then are located there.
The main hubs of the airline Air Canada are the Toronto Pearson International Airport, Montréal-Trudeau International Airport, Vancouver International Airport and the Calgary International Airport. The fleet size is extensive with around 333 aircrafts already with the airline and 44 more orders placed already.
Air Canada has a global alliance with many airlines like Lufthansa, United Airlines, Spanair, Jet Airways, Thai Airways, Singapore Airlines, Air One, Air New Zealand, and many others.
Services of the Air Canada airlines are pretty extensive with meal and beverages in great variety, in-flight entertainment, newspapers and magazines, etc. Also, entries to executive lounges are available like the Maple Leaf lounge. Various vacation packages are offered to passengers by Air Canada. |
