The state-owned and national airline of India, Air India has its base in Mumbai. The main hub airport is the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai and Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. Air India was founded in 1932 as Tata Airlines by JRD Tata as a division of Tata Sons Ltd. It was in July 1946 that the airline became a public limited and the name was changed to Air India. The current fleet size of Air India is around 36 aircrafts with 40 more orders placed. Around 31 domestic and international destinations are covered by Air India. Also, Air India Cargo and Air India Express are two subsidiaries under Air India.
