Air Madagascar is the national airline of the country which is headquartered in Antananarivo. An extensive connectivity and network is provided by Air Madagascar into neighbouring African countries, Indian Ocean islands, European and Asian countries. Chair of the Air Madagascar is Mr. Mr. Heriniaina Razafimahefa.
Established on 1st January 1962 with the name of Madair, the operations of the airline started on 14th October. The name of the airline was changed to Air Madagascar in 1963. Many scheduled flights to international destinations connect to Bangkok, Dzaoudzi, Johannesburg, Marseilles, Mauritius, Milan Malpensa, Moroni, Nairobi, Paris-Charles de Gaulle, St Denis and St Pierre de la Reunion. Numerous domestic destinations are also connected to via Air Madagascar total to 47 destinations altogether.
A fleet of 13 aircrafts which include 2 ATR 42-320, 1 ATR 42-500, 2 ATR 72-500, 2 Boeing 737-300, 2 Boeing 767-300ER and 4DHC-6 Twin Otter Series 300.
