Air Tanzania is the national airline of the country of the name Tanzania. Passenger services to various destinations domestic and international are provided to the people of Tanzania by Air Tanzania. The airline is located in Dar es Salaam and also in the city is the main hub airport of the airline which is Julius Nyerere International Airport, Dar es Salaam. The airline is owned by the Government of Tanzania and Mr. David Mattaka is the Managing Director and the CEO of the airlines.
When East African Airways broke up in 1977, the creation of Air Tanzania airlines took place. Presently, the airline has code-sharing with Air Zimbabwe. The present fleet of the Air Tanzania airlines is six which includes one Airbus A320-214, 3 Boeing 737-200 and 2 Bombardier Dash 8-300. The main destinations that are connected by Air Tanzania are Comoro, Moroni, Johannesburg, Mwanza, Dar es Salaam, Kamala, Entebbe, Zanzibar, etc.
Many special facilities are allowed to be taken up by the Air Tanzania airlines. These include special baggage allowances, services for disabled travellers, booking and flight information online, holiday tour packages, in-flight quality meals, etc.
