Air Zimbabwe is the national airline of the country Zimbabwe which providers passenger services for domestic as well as international locations. The airline is based in Harare and has the Harare International Airport as the main hub airport in the nation. Also, there are 2 focus cities too which are Luanda and Lusaka where the services operate from. The Air Zimbabwe airline is owned by the Air Zimbabwe Holdings Private Limited and Dr. Peter Chikumba is the CEO of the airlines.
After the Central African Airways Corporation was dissolved in the year 1967, Air Rhodesia was taken and established. The renaming of the airline once took place in 1979 to Air Zimbabwe Rhodesia and then to Air Zimbabwe in the year 1980. The current fleet of the Air Zimbabwe airlines consists of 9 aircrafts which include three Boeing 737-200ADV, two Boeing 767-200ER, three Xian MA60, 1 BAe 146-100 and three more orders.
Around 15 international and domestic destinations are covered by Air Zimbabwe. In Africa, the places connected are B lantyre, Dar es Salaam, Johannesburg, Lilongwe, Lubumbashi, Lusaka, Nairobi, Port Louis whereas Beijing, Guangzhou and Singapore are connected in Asia. Dubai and London are also connected. Domestic destinations include Bulawayo and Victoria Falls. Various in-flight facilities are provided to the people who travel with Air Zimbabwe like special meals, duty free shopping, holiday packages, entertainment, etc. |
