International and domestic passenger services are provided by Armavia which is an airline with its headquarters in Yerevan in Armenia. The main hub airport of the airlines is the Zvartnots International Airport, Yerevan. Seventy percent of the stakes of the company lie with the parent company which is Aviafin.
The Armavia airlines were established in the year 1996. However, it was only in 2001 that the commercial flights to Russia began to operate. Also, in 2004, Armavia took over many of the flights of the Armenian Airlines when it was declared bankrupt. The present fleet of the Armavia airlines consists of 9 aircrafts and also 2 orders and 2 options. These aircrafts include three Airbus A319-132, two Airbus A320-211, one Boeing 737-300, one Yakovlev Yak-42, one Ilyushin Il-86 and one Bombardier CRJ100. Around 33 destinations are covered by the Armavia airline which includes Moscow, Paris, London, Frankfurt, etc.
