Azerbaijan Airlines is the state-owned national airline of Azerbaijan and has its headquarters based in Baku. The main hub airport for the airlines is the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, Baku. The airlines were established in 1992 and started operations simultaneously. The subsidiary airlines Azal Avia Cargo is completely owned by the Azerbaijan Airlines only.
The airline at present has a fleet strength of 40 aircrafts which cover 33 destinations. 9 more orders have been placed. The key person in the founding and the progress of the airline includes Jakhangir Askerov. Azerbaijan Airlines cover the destinations located all over the world. These include domestic destinations like Baku, Ganja, Nakhchivan, Lankaran, and Zaqatala. There are also destinations which connect countries like China, Georgia, Iran, Israel, Kazakhstan, Syria, UAE, Austria, Belarus, France, Italy, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine and United Kingdom.
Azerbaijan Airlines provide complete comfort and numerous facilities to the travellers who fly with them. The food is of a very good quality and is also prized very reasonably. The seating and leg room is also very comfortable for all travellers. Care and escorts to travellers who are minors, elders or sick is also provided.
