Bahamasair is the national airline of the Bahamas which is based in Nassau in Bahamas. The airline has its base at the Lynden Pindling International Airport. The airline provides a service to around 29 destinations with a fleet of 10 aircrafts. The Bahamasair belongs to the Bahamian Government.
Bahamasair was founded in 1973 in a situation which had led the air transport to a major setback at the time of the oil crisis. At a time when British Airways and other international airlines had stopped flying to the Bahamas, the Bahamasair was launched to keep the islands connected to the rest of the world. Even though there were problems initially, later the airline established well and spread its connectivity all around the world at a very fast pace. 15 domestic destinations are connected by the Bahamasair and internationally, there are destinations in Cuba, Turks and Caicos Islands, Florida, etc that are connected by the flights of Bahamasair.
