Also trademarked as BMI, British Midlands Airways is an airline which is based in England, UK. The airline provides scheduled services to destinations all over the world. The main hub airports of the British Midlands Airways are London Heathrow Airport and the Manchester Airport. The airline is also a member of the Star Alliance.
The founding of the company took place in the year 1949 under the name of Derby Aviation Limited. The name was changed to BMI when the company bought the charter Mercury Airlines. A low cost subsidiary airline called Bmibaby has also been launched but it does not operate from Heathrow Airport. Currently, British Midlands Airlines has a fleet of 54 aircrafts which connect flights to over 51 destinations, domestic and international. Many destinations are covered by the airlines in Europe like Belgium,Denmark, Cyprus, Germany, France, Italy, Ireland, Netherlands, Italy, etc. In Africa, Ethiopia, Egypt, Sudan, Sierra Leone are covered. Barbados, Antigua, Barbuda, USA are also covered in addition to the Asian destinations like Armenia, Iran, Azerbaijan, Jordon, etc.
