Established on 26th July 1971, Cameroon Airlines started operating in November of the same year. It started with two Boeing 737-200 aircraft between Douala and Yaoundé. It is the national airline of Cameroon and is based in Douala, the Douala International Airport. The French civil aviation authority banned flights to France by Cameroon Airlines for an indefinite period in 2005, citing safety concerns. However, after conducting a technical audit the ban was lifted and again started operating in 2006.
The main hub of Cameroon Airlines is at the Douala International Airport. However, it has got hubs also at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Port Bouet Airport and Cote d lvoire, Abidjan.
Cameroon Airlines operates scheduled services within Africa and to Europe and the Middle East. The major destinations of this airline are Douala, Maroua, Garoua, Ngaoundere, Lagos, Abidjan, Bangui, Dakar, Bamako, Dubai, Brazzaville, Cotonou, Paris, Malabo, Kinshasa, Johannesburg, Libreville, N'Djamena and Pointe-Noire.
Fleet of Cameroon Airlines includes the following airplanes:

- Boeing 767-300ER
Earlier Cameroon Airlines used to operate the Bae 748 Series 2B and Boeing 767-200 planes.
