Cyprus Airways is the national airlines of Cyprus owned by the government of Cyprus. It is based in Nicosia. It was established on 24 September 1947 as a joint venture between the private interests and the colonial Government of Cyprus. It started operating 18 April, 1948. In 1992, it established its wholly-owned charter subsidiary Eurocypria Airlines to obtain a greater share of the burgeoning inbound IT charter market to Cyprus. Later in 2002, it founded Hellas Jet in Athens.
The main hubs of Cyprus Airways are Larnaca International Airport and Paphos International Airport.
Currently Cyprus Airways offers scheduled and comfortable services to various destinations in Middle East, Gulf and Europe.
