Established in May 7, 1932, Egypt Air is the flag carrier airline of Arab Republic of Egypt and a member of Star Alliance. The airline started functioning under the name of Misr Airwork and was later changed to Egypt Air. Egypt Air is Africa’s second largest airline. It operates in the field of cargo transportation and passenger travel. It is a state-owned company with special legislation permitting the management to operate without any interference from the government. The company is self-financing without any financial backing by the Egyptian government.
The main hub of Egypt Air is Cairo International Airport.
Egypt Air offers scheduled passenger and freighter services to more than 70 destinations in Europe, Africa, Asia, Middle East, Far East, USA, and Canada. In addition to that, it also runs extensive domestic operations.
Egypt Air fleet comprises of 30 Airbus carriers, 8 Boeing planes, 4 Freighter and 3 Embraer planes. The entire Egypt Air Fleet comprises of 45 airplanes. The company is in the process of acquiring 3 more Embraer and 10 Boeing airplanes.
