Finnair Finnish Airlines was established in 1923. The airline was first founded as Aero Ltd by Consul Bruno Lucander. The first flight was flown on March 20, 1924 from Helsinki to Tallinn, Estonia. Currently, it is the largest airline and the national flag carrier of Finland. Finnair is a member of Oneworld alliance. Today, it operates domestic, international and charter flights. In 2006, the airline transported 8.8 million passengers, on a network of 15 domestic and 55 international destinations. In addition to that, there are about 50 seasonal charter-flight destinations.
The main hub of Finnair Finnish Airlines is Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.
Finnair flies to around 65 destinations across Europe, East, South and Southeast Asia and North America. It started its European operations with the introduction of Embraer jets. The domestic operations are partly carried out in cooperation with Finncomm Airlines.
