The national airline and flag carrier of Germany, Lufthansa Airlines is the fifth largest airlines in the world. This figures come up when the overall passengers carried is considered. Lufthansa airlines were founded in the year 1926 and are also a founding member of the Star Alliance which was formed in 1997 along with four other leaders in airways. In the year 1945, the services were suspended due to the defeat of Germany in war. It was in 1953 that it was recreated and services resumed. Around 201 destinations in 89 countries are connected by Lufthansa Airlines.
