PLUNA Líneas Aéreas Uruguayas S.A or simply PLUNA is the national airline of the country Uruguay. The headquarters of the airlines are located in Montevideo and the airlines have their main hub airport at Carrasco International Airport at Montevideo. Scheduled, unscheduled and charter flights are provided by the airlines. Punta del Este Airport is the operational hub of the PLUNA airlines.
The PLUNA airlines were founded in the year 1936 by two brothers Jorge Marquez Vaesa and Alberto Marquez Vaesa. The first aircrafts to fly for the airline were 2 De Havilland Dragonfly aircrafts. Presently, the fleet size of the airlines is 6 aircrafts and around 11 destinations in Spain and in South America are provided by the airlines. Mainly, the destinations are Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Brazil, Argentina and Spain. The airlines have a history of 70 years now but not a single incident or accident has taken place with its aircrafts or travellers.
