Taipei is the capital city of Taiwan and is located in the northern part of the island. Taipei is the largest and the financial city of the country of Taiwan which is also called as the Republic of China. February sees the Lantern festival take place where children parade at night with decorative lanterns. March 29th is the Youth Day in Taipei and takes place at martyr’s shrine. People visit the tombs of their family members on Tomb Sweeping Day which occurs in May. The Dragon Boat Festival takes place in June and is a great attraction for tourists. Another festival which is the Mid-Autumn Festival also is a great time which marks the end of the harvesting season.
